Group Leader: Coro Bescós Atin

The cancer research area of the group has been strengthened by our participation in new clinical trials –led by the Vall d’Hebron Institut d’Oncologia (VHIO)? on novel oncologic therapies. Besides, the “basic science – clinical science” research project undertaken by our group in collaboration with the Stem Cells and Cancer Group at IRB Barcelona, led by Dr. Salvador Aznar, is still open and yielding promising results.

Apart from that, we have been working towards establishing a cooperation with one of the most relevant international research groups on the application of the sentinel node biopsy (SNB) technique in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Our goals include opening up new avenues for research on the topic and developing new training schemes for surgeons using the technique.

The other research lines in the group have been reorganized and consolidated, such as the EU-Funded project “Custom-made solutions in facial reconstruction and their impact on quality-of-life (CAD-CAM)”
